Verse (2:15) - English Translation

Chapter (2) sūrat l-baqarah (The Cow)

Sahih International: [But] Allah mocks them and prolongs them in their transgression [while] they wander blindly.

Pickthall: Allah (Himself) doth mock them, leaving them to wander blindly on in their contumacy.

Yusuf Ali: Allah will throw back their mockery on them, and give them rope in their trespasses; so they will wander like blind ones (To and fro).

Shakir: Allah shall pay them back their mockery, and He leaves them alone in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on.

Muhammad Sarwar: God mocks them and gives them time to continue blindly in their transgressions.

Mohsin Khan: Allah mocks at them and gives them increase in their wrong-doings to wander blindly.

Arberry: God shall mock them, and shall lead them on blindly wandering in their insolence.

Allah (membalas) memperolok-olok, dan membiarkan mereka meraba-raba dalam kesesatan mereka (yang melampaui batas itu).
[2:15] Tafsir Jalalayn
(Allahlah yang memperolok-olokkan mereka) artinya membalas olok-olokkan itu dengan memperolok-olokkan mereka pula (dan membiarkan mereka) terpedaya (dalam kesesatan mereka) yakni melanggar batas disebabkan kekafiran (terumbang-ambing) dalam keadaan bingung tanpa tujuan atau pegangan.
[2:15] Quraish Shihab
Allah membalas ejekan mereka itu, dan menakdirkan mereka menjadi hina sebab cacian mereka terhadap orang-orang yang beriman. Allah memperlakukan mereka sebagai pengejek, menelantarkan mereka dalam jurang kesesatan yang membutakan mata mereka dari kebenaran, kemudian menyiksa mereka.
