Chapter (2) sūrat l-baqarah (The Cow)
Sahih International: Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans [before Prophet Muhammad] - those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness - will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.
Pickthall: Lo! Those who believe (in that which is revealed unto thee, Muhammad), and those who are Jews, and Christians, and Sabaeans - whoever believeth in Allah and the Last Day and doeth right - surely their reward is with their Lord, and there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve.
Yusuf Ali: Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,- any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.
Shakir: Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the f Christians, and the Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve.
Muhammad Sarwar: However, those who have become believers (the Muslims), and the Jews, the Christians and the Sabaeans who believe in God and the Day of Judgment and strive righteously will receive their reward from the Lord and will have nothing to fear nor will they be grieved.
Mohsin Khan: Verily! Those who believe and those who are Jews and Christians, and Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day and do righteous good deeds shall have their reward with their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve .
Arberry: Surely they that believe, and those of Jewry, and the Christians, and those Sabaeans, whoso believes in God and the Last Day, and works righteousness -- their wage awaits them with their Lord, and no fear shall be on them; neither shall they sorrow.
Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang beriman, dan orang-orang Yahudi dan orang-orang Nasora (Nasrani), dan orang-orang Saabien sesiapa di antara mereka itu beriman kepada Allah dan (beriman kepada) hari akhirat serta beramal soleh, maka bagi mereka pahala balasannya di sisi Tuhan mereka, dan tidak ada kebimbangan (dari berlakunya kejadian yang tidak baik) kepada mereka, dan mereka pula tidak akan berdukacita.
[2:62] Tafsir Jalalayn
(Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang beriman) kepada para nabi di masa lalu (dan orang-orang Yahudi) (orang-orang Kristen dan orang-orang Shabiin) yakni segolongan dari orang-orang Yahudi atau Nasrani (siapa saja yang beriman) di antara mereka (kepada Allah dan hari akhir) di masa nabi kita (serta mengerjakan amal saleh) yaitu syariatnya (mereka akan memperoleh pahala) sebagai ganjaran dari amal perbuatan mereka itu (di sisi Tuhan mereka, tak ada kekhawatiran terhadap mereka dan tidak pula mereka berduka cita). Dhamir atau kata ganti orang pada 'aamana', 'amila' dan sesudahnya hendaklah diartikan secara umum atau siapa saja.

Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang beriman kepada para nabi terdahulu, orang-orang Yahudi, Nasrani, dan orang-orang yang mengultuskan bintang dan malaikat, siapa saja di antara mereka yang beriman kepada risalah Muhammad setelah ia diutus untuk menjadi rasul, yang mengesakan Allah, beriman kepada kebangkitan dan perhitungan pada hari kiamat dan mengerjakan amal saleh, mereka adalah orang-orang yang diberi pahala dari Tuhan dan tidak akan merasakan kekhawatiran dari hukuman serta tidak akan bersedih hati karena kehilangan pahala. Karena sesungguhnya Allah tidak akan menyia-nyiakan pahala orang-orang yang berbuat kebajikan.

Sesungguhnya orang-orang mukmin, orang-orang Yahudi, orang-orang Nasrani dan orang-orang Shabiin, siapa saja diantara mereka yang benar-benar beriman kepada Allah, hari kemudian dan beramal saleh, mereka akan menerima pahala dari Tuhan mereka, tidak ada kekhawatiran kepada mereka, dan tidak (pula) mereka bersedih hati.
