Chapter (5) sūrat l-māidah (The Table spread with Food)
Sahih International: They said, "O Moses, indeed we will not enter it, ever, as long as they are within it; so go, you and your Lord, and fight. Indeed, we are remaining right here."
Pickthall: They said: O Moses! We will never enter (the land) while they are in it. So go thou and thy Lord and fight! We will sit here.
Yusuf Ali: They said: "O Moses! while they remain there, never shall we be able to enter, to the end of time. Go thou, and thy Lord, and fight ye two, while we sit here (and watch)."
Shakir: They said: O Musa! we shall never enter it so long as they are in it; go therefore you and your Lord, then fight you both surely we will here sit down.
Muhammad Sarwar: They said, "(Moses), as long as they are in the land, we shall never go there. Go with your Lord to fight them but we shall stay where we are".
Mohsin Khan: They said: "O Musa (Moses)! We shall never enter it as long as they are there. So go you and your Lord and fight you two, we are sitting right here."
Arberry: They said, 'Moses, we will never enter it so long as they are in it. Go forth, thou and thy Lord, and do battle; we will be sitting here.'
Mereka (menolak dengan) berkata: "Wahai Musa, sesungguhnya kami tidak akan memasuki negeri itu selama-lamanya selagi kaum itu masih berada di dalamnya; oleh itu pergilah engkau bersama Tuhanmu dan perangilah mereka. Sebenarnya kami di sinilah duduk menunggu".

(Kata mereka, "Hai Musa! Kami sekali-kali tidak akan memasukinya untuk selama-lamanya selagi mereka masih berada di dalamnya. Maka pergilah kamu bersama Tuhanmu dan perangilah) mereka (biarlah kami di sini duduk menanti saja.") tak ikut berperang.

Mereka terus melanggar dan berkata, "Wahai Mûsâ, sesungguhnya kami sama sekali tidak akan memasuki negeri ini, selagi orang-orang yang perkasa itu masih berada di dalamnya. Biarkan kami, sebab kamu tidak mempunyai kekuasaan apa-apa atas kami. Pergilah kamu bersama Tuhanmu dan perangilah mereka. Kami akan tetap tinggal di tempat ini."

Mereka berkata: "Hai Musa, kami sekali sekali tidak akan memasukinya selama-lamanya, selagi mereka ada didalamnya, karena itu pergilah kamu bersama Tuhanmu, dan berperanglah kamu berdua, sesungguhnya kami hanya duduk menanti disini saja".
