وَلَوْلَآ أَن كَتَبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْجَلَآءَ لَعَذَّبَهُمْ فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَاۖ وَلَهُمْ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ عَذَابُ ٱلنَّارِ ﴿سورة الحشر آية ٣﴾.

[59:3] Basmeih

Dan kalaulah tidak kerana Allah telah menetapkan pengusiran (yang demikian buruknya) terhadap mereka, tentulah Ia akan menyeksa mereka di dunia; dan mereka pula akan beroleh azab seksa neraka pada hari akhirat kelak.

[59:3] Tafsir Jalalayn

(Dan jika tidaklah karena Allah telah menetapkan) telah memastikan (pengusiran terhadap mereka) yakni dikeluarkan dari kampung halamannya (benar-benar Allah mengazab mereka di dunia) dengan dibunuh dan ditawan, sebagaimana yang telah dilakukan-Nya terhadap orang-orang Yahudi Bani Quraizhah. (Dan bagi mereka di akhirat azab neraka).

[59:3] Quraish Shihab

Seandainya saja Allah belum menetapkan ketenentuan untuk mengusir mereka dengan cara yang tidak menyenangkan itu, niscaya Dia menyiksa mereka di dunia ini dengan cara yang lebih kejam daripada pengusiran itu. Di akhirat kelak mereka akan mendapatkan siksa neraka.

Sahih International: And if not that Allah had decreed for them evacuation, He would have punished them in [this] world, and for them in the Hereafter is the punishment of the Fire.

Pickthall: And if Allah had not decreed migration for them, He verily would have punished them in the world, and theirs in the Hereafter is the punishment of the Fire.

Yusuf Ali: And had it not been that Allah had decreed banishment for them, He would certainly have punished them in this world: And in the Hereafter they shall (certainly) have the Punishment of the Fire.

Shakir: And had it not been that Allah had decreed for them the exile, He would certainly have punished them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have chastisement of the fire.

Muhammad Sarwar: Had God not decreed exile for them, He would have certainly punished them (in some other way). In this life and in the next life they would have suffered the torment of hell fire.

Mohsin Khan: And had it not been that Allah had decreed exile for them, He would certainly have punished them in this world, and in the Hereafter theirs shall be the torment of the Fire.

Arberry: Had God not prescribed dispersal for them, He would have chastised them in this world; and there awaits them in the world to come the chastisement of the Fire.
