فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ فَزَادَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مَرَضًاۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْذِبُونَ ﴿سورة البقرة آية ١٠﴾.

Chapter (2) sūrat l-baqarah (The Cow)

Sahih International: In their hearts is disease, so Allah has increased their disease; and for them is a painful punishment because they [habitually] used to lie.

Pickthall: In their hearts is a disease, and Allah increaseth their disease. A painful doom is theirs because they lie.

Yusuf Ali: In their hearts is a disease; and Allah has increased their disease: And grievous is the penalty they (incur), because they are false (to themselves).

Shakir: There is a disease in their hearts, so Allah added to their disease and they shall have a painful chastisement because they

Muhammad Sarwar: A sickness exists in their hearts to which God adds more sickness. Besides this, they will suffer a painful punishment as a result of the lie which they speak.

Mohsin Khan: In their hearts is a disease (of doubt and hypocrisy) and Allah has increased their disease. A painful torment is theirs because they used to tell lies.

Arberry: In their hearts is a sickness, and God has increased their sickness, and there awaits them a painful chastisement for that they have cried lies.

Dalam hati mereka (golongan yang munafik itu) terdapat penyakit (syak dan hasad dengki), maka Allah tambahkan lagi penyakit itu kepada mereka; dan mereka pula akan beroleh azab seksa yang tidak terperi sakitnya, dengan sebab mereka berdusta (dan mendustakan kebenaran).
[2:10] Tafsir Jalalayn
(Dalam hati mereka ada penyakit) berupa keragu-raguan dan kemunafikan yang menyebabkan sakit atau lemahnya hati mereka. (Lalu ditambah Allah penyakit mereka) dengan menurunkan Alquran yang mereka ingkari itu. (Dan bagi mereka siksa yang pedih) yang menyakitkan (disebabkan kedustaan mereka.) Yukadzdzibuuna dibaca pakai tasydid, artinya amat mendustakan, yakni terhadap Nabi Allah dan tanpa tasydid 'yakdzibuuna' yang berarti berdusta, yakni dengan mengakui beriman padahal tidak.

Dalam hati mereka terdapat penyakit iri dan dengki kepada orang-orang yang beriman, di samping kerusakan akidah. Allah menambah parah penyakit mereka itu dengan memenangkan kebenaran, karena hal itu akan lebih menyakitkan, akibat iri, dengki dan keangkuhan mereka. Mereka akan mendapatkan siksa yang pedih di dunia dan di akhirat akibat dusta dan ingkar.
