• وَمَا هَٰذِهِ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَآ ... (Al-'Ankabut:64).
• ... إِلَّا لَهْوٌ وَلَعِبٌۚ ... (Al-'Ankabut:64).
• ... وَإِنَّ ٱلدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ ... (Al-'Ankabut:64).
• ... لَهِىَ ٱلْحَيَوَانُۚ ... (Al-'Ankabut:64).
• ... لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ (Al-'Ankabut:64).

وَمَا هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَآ إِلَّا لَهْوٌ وَلَعِبٌۚ وَإِنَّ ٱلدَّارَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةَ لَهِيَ ٱلْحَيَوَانُۚ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿سورة العنكبوت آية ٦٤﴾.

[29:64] Basmeih

Dan (ingatlah bahawa) kehidupan dunia ini (meliputi segala kesenangan dan kemewahannya, jika dinilaikan dengan kehidupan akhirat) tidak lain hanyalah ibarat hiburan dan permainan; dan sesungguhnya negeri akhirat itu ialah kehidupan yang sebenar-benarnya; kalaulah mereka mengetahui (hakikat ini tentulah mereka tidak akan melupakan hari akhirat).

[29:64] Tafsir Jalalayn

(Dan tiadalah kehidupan dunia ini melainkan senda gurau dan main-main) sedangkan amal-amal takarrub termasuk perkara akhirat karena buahnya akan dipetik di akhirat nanti. (Dan sesungguhnya akhirat itulah yang sebenarnya kehidupan) lafal al-hayawan artinya kehidupan (kalau mereka mengetahui) hal tersebut, niscaya mereka tidak akan memilih perkara duniawi dan meninggalkan perkara akhirat.

Kenikmatan hidup di dunia ini hanya bersifat sementara dan terbatas. Ia ibarat permainan yang menyenangkan bagi orang-orang lalai, seperti halnya permainan yang melalaikan anak-anak, lalu mereka pun menginggalkannya. Kehidupan akhiratlah yang merupakan kehidupan yang sebenarnya, sempurna dan abadi. Hal ini adalah kenyataan yang dapat mereka ketahui kalau mereka benar-benar mau mengetahui.

Dan tiadalah kehidupan dunia ini melainkan senda gurau dan main-main. Dan sesungguhnya akhirat itulah yang sebenarnya kehidupan, kalau mereka mengetahui.

Sahih International: And this worldly life is not but diversion and amusement. And indeed, the home of the Hereafter - that is the [eternal] life, if only they knew.

Pickthall: This life of the world is but a pastime and a game. Lo! the home of the Hereafter - that is Life, if they but knew.

Yusuf Ali: What is the life of this world but amusement and play? but verily the Home in the Hereafter,- that is life indeed, if they but knew.

Shakir: And this life of the world is nothing but a sport and a play; and as for the next abode, that most surely is the life-- did they but know!

Muhammad Sarwar: The worldly life is not more than a childish game. It is the life hereafter which will be the real life, if only they knew it.

Mohsin Khan: And this life of the world is only amusement and play! Verily, the home of the Hereafter, that is the life indeed (i.e. the eternal life that will never end), if they but knew

Arberry: This present life is naught but a diversion and a sport; surely the Last Abode is Life, did they but know.
